Project Description: My master's research with Dr. Colter Chitwood and Dr. Bryan Murray is focused on ungulate interactions and response to human recreation in the Ruby Range of southwest Montana. My work is part of a collaboration with the University of Montana and Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Responsibilities: Training and hiring field technicians, collecting and analyzing camera data, providing effective scientific writing of results from analyses.

Responsibilities: Grading lab assignments, teaching lab classes, conducting office hours to provide additional assistance to students in Dr. Bryan Murray's Geospatial Technologies lecture content and in use of ArcGIS Pro©.

Responsibilities: Collaborated on projects involving the creation of digital media for science-based land management communication objectives, developed infographics and digital media for ecological management, used Asana© program for task and project management, used Adobe products such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premier to create digital science communication content, and utilized ArcGIS Pro© to create maps for visual science communication.

Disney's Animals, Science, and Environment
Conservation Education Presenter
Responsibilities: Disseminated information about conservation, wildlife, and environmental sciences to a diverse group of audiences using fun and engaging storytelling techniques. Presented conservation education material (in English and Spanish) to guests of all ages through the Wilderness Explorer program at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Presented education material in both badge locations and animal habitats to inspire guests to positively impact wildlife and take conservation action. Maintained an up-to-date knowledge of wildlife research and zoo animal behavior to interpret to Disney’s Animal Kingdom visitors. Engaged with education leadership as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Team to improve badge content and accessibility. Trained new interns on badge content, operations, and job expectations.

Mapped habitat boundaries within kestrel territories using QGIS©, monitored kestrel and barn owl nests, assisted with capture and banding of adult kestrels, kestrel nestlings, and barn owlets, engaged with landowners (in English and in Spanish) to gain access to kestrel habitat, identified and measured vegetation height and density in kestrel habitat using the Robel method, conducted direct observations of and photographed adult kestrels and fledglings to correlate behavior data with tracking data, assisted with programming logger settings on backpack transmitters, assisted in development of American Kestrel Tracking application, and managed large datasets from project. Additionally participated in news articles and social media posts describing research objectives on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
